To clean up the neglected garden and then maintain it and the area surrounding the main residence.
I enjoyed the challenge of restoring and maintaining the extensive grounds at the rehab clinic, Montserrat, also owned by the Lawrence family (in conjunction with Arrow Health). I found the experience of creating the stunning garden beds and grounds for the rehab residents really fulfilling. I also constructed two large landscaped garden beds featuring local rock work and plants. These garden beds are a major focal point as you make your way up the long winding driveway. At times it wasn’t just about my work in the garden, it was also about the time spent communicating with the residents. Taking a moment to just have a chat with someone can make a big difference, even if you don’t realise it at the time. I was struck by how this small act of merely chatting to someone, in its own small way, was significant to helping them on their journey to recovery.
